Boy was it rainy at Gairlochy this morning - and when the rain eased off the last of the years midges made a stalwart attempt to stock up on food for the winter - or do they die when it gets cold - I hope so.
Anyway, the Gairlochy lock keeper was helpful, friendly and encouraging, we set up a great little camp amongst tall pine trees, managed to cook some pasta and after a bit of in-tent blogging, settled down for the night. The morning brought torrential rain which seemed to make packing up camp take an age but eventually we got ourselves sorted and I waved goodbye to my brave paddlers.
